Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager oversees all accounting operations for Clayens’ U.S. entities within the North America Shared Service Center. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, compliance with IFRS (Group) and US GAAP (local) standards, and the effectiveness of internal controls across all accounting functions.
 
 The Accounting Manager delivers timely and accurate financial results and drives process standardization, continuous improvement, and alignment between operational data and financial reporting.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises multiple Senior Accountants and accounting staff, including the Accounts Payable team. 
  • Oversees workload distribution, goal setting, and performance management. 
  • Provides training, coaching, and technical guidance to support team development. 
  • Ensures a collaborative and high-performing accounting environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all accounting operations for U.S. entities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Payroll Accounting. 
  • Leads the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting. 
  • Reviews of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by Senior Accountants. 
  • Prepares and reviews reporting packages in Amelkis (Group consolidation tool) to ensure accurate and timely financial submissions for Group reporting. 
  • Coordinates internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance and timely delivery of required documentation.
  • Reviews and validates accounting adjustments and entries related to differences between IFRS and US GAAP to ensure accurate Group consolidation and consistent financial reporting. 
  • Drives standardization, documentation, and automation of accounting procedures within the Shared Service Center framework. 
  • Oversees system integration and data alignment between IQMS, TMM, Sage X3 and Amelkis, ensuring reliable data flow between manufacturing, accounting, and reporting systems. 
  • Partners with the Director of Accounting and other regional finance leaders to identify risks, implement process enhancements, and support continuous optimization.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and IT to resolve accounting and reporting issues. 
  • Acts as a liaison between the U.S. and Mexican accounting teams and Group Finance in France.
  • These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the activities described above, as the position may evolve based on organizational needs and the development of the Shared Service Center. Additional duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in a supervisory or managerial role. 
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required. 
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, CAPEX, and intercompany processes. 
  • Advanced skills in Excel and experience consolidating multi-entity financial data. Ability to support and enhance system integrations and process automation.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across departments and regions.
  • Strong proficiency in IQMS, TMM, and Amelkis; experience with Sage X3 or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement. High integrity, professionalism, and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in accounting or audit firms, particularly in external audit or accounting expertise, is a strong plus and provides a valuable foundation for this role.
  • Familiarity with LEAN or continuous improvement principles is a plus.
  • Fluency in English required; bilingual proficiency in French and English is a significant advantage due to frequent collaboration with the Group’s finance teams in France.

 

Physical and Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to work remotely with occasional travel to U.S. sites or Group offices. 
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing job duties. 
  • Travel requirement approximately 10–15 percent (audits, site visits, or training).
