Inventory/Scheduling Coordinator
Job Title: Inventory/Scheduling Coordinator
Location: Rockford
Department: Materials
Reports to: Plant Manager
Effective Date: September 2025
Job Summary:
Perform a variety of duties related to inventory, planning and scheduling production, coordinates and expedites flow of material between plants. Adjusts schedules to ensure optimum customer satisfaction.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Master Production Schedule in order to meet customer demand.
- Coordinates material requirements to ensure consistent material flow while maintaining minimum inventories.
- Works directly with Customer Service to acknowledge customer orders based on material lead time and machine and/or assembly capacity.
- Advises Customer Service of changes in production schedule which will delay delivery to a customer due to tooling, machine, quality, or revised scheduling.
- Provides weekly production schedule and maintains scheduling boards.
- Maintains targeted inventory levels and performs cycle counting.
- Must be familiar with all aspects of Material Requirement Planning and Master Production Scheduling.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
- Ability to organize and take independent action as needed.
- Must adhere to Clayens Quality Policies to ensure that our products comply with necessary requirements.
- Work closely to lead Material Manager and minimize inventory variances.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and with plastic injection molding preferred.
- Experience with MRP/business planning system preferred and/or must be willing to learn.
- MRP Systems (IQMS a plus), MS Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, Etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
