Quality Technician Level II
Job Summary:
Perform inspections of injection molded parts for molding defects, dimensional and inspecting for deviations from customer supplied and industry specifications. Responsible for part inspections both start-ups, in-process, and visual inspections using measuring equipment and software. Oversee and inspect parts during machining, molding, trimming etc. Interface with production workers, and maintain communication with Quality Manager, Project Engineers, Molders, and Lead Operators etc.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
- Analyze and interpret drawings, data, JDPs, and other materials to determine conformance to customer requirements using inspection and testing procedures.
- Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
- Operates the CMM’s and other inspection equipment during production, start-up, and general inspections.
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.
- Mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
- Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, Vision system, and Micro-hite surface plate measurements.
- Create and review SOP’s, Job Data Packets, and other QMS documentation.
- Develops inspection plans.
- Interacts with company ERP when needed.
- Reviews production processes for compliance to internal requirements.
- Perform internal audits when requested.
- Ensures nonconforming materials process is followed.
- Assist Engineers and Sr. Techs with customer PPAPs, FMEAs, and FA inspections when needed.
- Perform duties with little or no supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication.
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) is required.
- Ability to read blueprints, sketches, specifications and technical materials.
- Ability to operate CMM’s (calypso) and other precision inspection equipment supporting production and start-ups.
- Ability to use handheld measuring devices.
- Excellent Critical Thinking; Complex Problem Solving; and Verbal and Written Communication.
- Completion of "Fundamentals of Injection Molding" Routsis training.
- Background ISO9001 environment is strongly preferred. Similar quality system experience such as AS9100, ISO13485 or IATF16949 welcome.
- The ability to work with coworkers in a team environment.
- English language proficiency, to include verbal and written communication.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.).
- Minimum of 2 years Production knowledge in Manufacturing
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time during 8-hour shift.
- Lifting up to 50lbs.
