About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee our production operations. You’ll guarantee that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows. In a fast-paced environment like production, the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process. They must be competent and comprehend complex operations. You should be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs. The goal is to ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in molding plastic products, applying knowledge of molding machine setup and operating techniques and production machining methods: Reads operating logs to identify inoperative molding machines, determines reasons for machine malfunction, and arranges for machine repair.
- Reviews production schedules and work orders, and assigns duties to workers according to order priorities.
- Studies quality control reports to identify product defects and directs machine operators to adjust machines to eliminate flaws.
- Examines molded products from each machine to verify conformance to specifications.
- Conducts or directs training of new employees in machine operation.
- Confers with management and other supervisors to resolve production problems.
- Ensures safety requirements are met by enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (i.e., safety glasses, etc.) and requiring team members to keep work areas clean and uncluttered.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum two years' technical in plastic injection molding required.
- Basic computer skills to enter data.
- High School or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- The ability to communicate and comprehend the English language, both verbally and written.
- The ability to work with coworkers in a team environment
- Must be motivated, detail oriented, and self-directed.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to work as a cooperative team player, treating all co-workers, customer, and suppliers with consideration and respect.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing 8 – 12 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
