Maintenance Supervisor

Parkway Products, Inc. Westminster, SC (Onsite) Full-Time

Job Summary: 

Leads maintenance department in repairs of electrical; plumbing; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); carpentry; painting; and other building systems.   

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees work of assigned maintenance team employees.
  • Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new maintenance team members.  

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Observes all health and safety requirements and maintains the work area in neat and orderly condition.
  • Performs routine and emergency mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.  
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and replacement of components as required on machines to ensure satisfactory operations with minimum down time.   
  • Troubleshoot and maintains all associated equipment including, but not limited to, robot, stackers, conveyors, DME units, and temperature control units.
  • Works from drawings, mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic prints, electrical diagrams, manufacturers printed instructions to troubleshoot and locate mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical problems in functional and control system.  
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts or materials.  
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance inspections of hydraulic/pneumatic valves, lines, connections, pumps and check micro-preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Use mechanical maintenance tools, equipment and machines as required.  Uses Volt-OhmAmmeter for some electrical checks.  Comply with all LOTO requirements.
  • Can successfully train Maintenance Tech I, II, & III employees on all IM Machines as related to maintenance with no supervision.
  • Capable of ordering supplies, equipment and tools for the Maintenance department as required.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Works with management to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members’ skills and experience.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
  • Inspects work performed by team members.
  • Tracks and logs workers’ time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
  • Provide leadership and manage machine maintenance and repair.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.  

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • strong supervisory and leadership skills.  
  •  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required position-specific coursework.
  • Ability to complete machine-specific LOTO training.

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years’ experience in Maintenance role with emphasis on manufacturing (Injection Mold preferred) (or prior external experience).

 Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
